220104-N-FA490-2001 NAVAL BASE GUAM (Jan. 4, 2022) – Naval Base Guam’s Fire & Emergency Services and the Independence-variant littoral combat ship USS Jackson (LCS 6) damage control fire team pose for a group photo after an integrated in-port fire drill. The drill simulated a fire onboard Jackson that becomes larger than the ship’s force can handle and requires the assistance of the base fire department. Conducting joint drills helps to alleviate communication gaps and combine techniques necessary to assist shipboard personnel during a casualty.
