Mission

Afloat Training Group Western Pacific (ATGWP) is a training command located in Yokosuka, Japan, that provides training to the 7TH Fleet.

The personnel attached to ATGWP are qualified senior top-notch Sailors who are subject matter experts in their field of responsibility. They serve in a
variety of functions such as Team Leads, Instructors, and Assessors.

Trainers use their expertise to provide the training needed for ships crews to perform their jobs effectively and efficiently aboard ships to meet all
requirements set forth IAW Ships Force Training and Readiness Manual.

  • Provide Western Pacific commands a single point of contact for training requests
  • Provide classrooms for formal training at the request of Western Pacific commands.
  • Provide flexible and diverse training for commands, so fleet mission requirements can be met on time.
