Reporting Information for New Personnel
San Diego Airport
San Diego has an International Airport with flights arriving day and night from a multitude of cities. Naval Amphibious Base Coronado is located approximately 15 minutes from the airport. Various cab companies located outside of the airport will take you to the base for around $20. Contacting ACU-1 in advance may afford you a ride from the duty driver.
Directions to ACU-1 at Naval Amphibious Base Coronado
From San Diego Airport: From Interstate 5, take the San Diego-Coronado Bay Bridge (HWY 75) to Coronado. Turn left on to Orange Avenue. Continue straight, you will pass the Hotel Del Coronado on your right. Turn LEFT onto TARAWA RD. You will see a sign directing you to turn left into Naval Amphibious Base Coronado, Main Gate. Continue straight through the gate and take the first left after Navy Exchange Retail Store. You will see a blue awning over the ACU ONE quarterdeck.
From Imperial Beach: Follow 75 North to Coronado. Turn RIGHT onto GUADALCANAL RD. You will see a sign directing you to turn right into Naval Amphibious Base Coronado, Main Gate. Continue straight through the gate and take the first left after Navy Exchange Retail Store. You will see a blue awning over the ACU ONE quarterdeck. 
Reporting:   Report in the uniform of the day to the ACU-1 quarterdeck. Your sponsor will meet you and assist you in checking in.

Ombudsman

The OMBUDSMAN serves as an intermediary between squadron families and the Navy, providing advice and assistance. Some of the functions of the OMBUDSMAN are to assist Navy families with answers and support and to provide resources. This is an extremely effective way of dealing with the many common Navy family problems associated with our way of life.
