The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Preble (DDG 88) departed San Diego Sept. 22, 2024, shifting its homeport to Yokosuka, Japan. The move is part of a scheduled rotation of forward-deployed naval forces in the Pacific a permanent change of station move for for the crew and family members.

SAN DIEGO -- Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Preble (DDG 88) held a change of command ceremony on Naval Base San Diego, July 12.

Late yesterday, the U.S. Missile Defense Agency, in cooperation with the U.S. Navy, successfully conducted an intercept of an advanced Medium Range Ballistic Missile (MRBM) test target utilizing the Standard Missile-6 (SM-6) Dual II with Software Upgrade (SWUP).

Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Preble (DDG 88) held a change of command ceremony on Preble Field at Liberty Station as Cmdr. John Baggett turned over the role of commanding officer to Cmdr. Peter Lesaca, Oct. 29.
