WASHINGTON, D.C. — Surface Warfare Tactics Instructors (WTIs) from across the Navy, alongside senior leaders, and industry partners convene today for the annual WTI Re-Blue event, the Navy’s premiere forum for advanced surface warfighting talks. Hosted by the Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center (SMWDC), the event runs through January 16th at the Washington Navy Yard and the Pentagon, to review fleet lessons learned, validate updated tactics, and advance warfighting readiness across the Surface Force.

SMWDC hosts members of the Royal Norwegian Navy

Zerr, Commander of the Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center (SMWDC), hosted Captain Lene Dømbe, Deputy Commander of the Norwegian Navy Training Establishment, at the SMWDC headquarters this week. The visit underscored the enduring nature of the U.S.-Norway alliance and focused on advancing cooperation between SMWDC and the Royal Norwegian Navy’s Maritime Warfare Centre.

Zerr received a series of briefs and tours to highlight the NSCWDD Surface Domain Analysis Center, directed energy, multi-warfare planning and training system and fleet data collection. NSWCDD is the largest of the 10 Naval Warfare Centers and plays crucial roles in developing, improving, testing and fielding all major Surface Navy systems: Tomahawk, Aegis, Surface Navy weapons platforms and is recognized as a premier team of integrators.
