Congratulations on receiving orders to USS ASHLAND (LSD 48)! We are the nation’s greatest Amphibious Ship, currently home ported in San Diego, California. If you have received orders to USS ASHLAND (LSD 48), please email sponsor@lsd48.navy.mil and we will provide you with a sponsor to help make your transition as smooth as possible. We are excited to have you on board and welcome you to the ASHLAND family.

USS ASHLAND is a team of professionals, who commit ourselves to each other and get the job done - always. We are proud both of our heritage, as the second ship of our name, and of our connection to Henry Clay, for whose historical Kentucky estate we are named. He was a prominent figure during the development of our Nation while in its infancy. As the Speaker of the House, he helped lead the American people in the War of 1812 against the British. As the 9th Secretary of State, he helped to structure the political system as a member of the Whig party, while simultaneously being instrumental in founding the American banking system.

His honor, courage, and commitment to our young nation are an inspiration to us, and I believe it will be for you as well. If you have orders to ASHLAND, congratulations and welcome!
