1. WELCOME ABOARD! I WOULD LIKE TO PERSONALLY WELCOME AND
CONGRATULATE YOU ON YOUR ASSIGNMENT TO NAVAL SURFACE GROUP NORTHWEST 
(CNSGNW). CNSGNW IS THE COMNAVSURFPAC DIRECTED AUTHORITY FOR THE 
NORTHWEST REGION AND PROVIDES A WIDE RANGE OF SUPPORT TO SURFACE 
FORCE SHIPS HOMEPORTED IN AND VISITING THE NORTHWEST REGION. YOU
WILL BE JOINING A TEAM OF DEDICATED PROFESSIONALS WHO TRULY TAKE 
PRIDE IN SUPPORTING OUR AFLOAT SHIPMATES AND REMOVING OBSTACLES TO 
THEIR READINESS TO CONDUCT PROMPT AND SUSTAINED COMBAT OPERATIONS AT 
SEA. I KNOW YOU WILL FIND THIS ASSIGNMENT BOTH CHALLENGING AND

CNO AVAILABILITY IN SEATTLE, WA. CNSGNW ALSO SUPPORTS ONE CRUISER
IN SEATTLE.

NEW ARRIVALS
Orders to Commander Naval Surface Group Northwest (CNSGNW)
When CNSGNW receives your orders, you will be assigned a sponsor who will contact you and send you a welcome aboard package. Your sponsor will assist you with everything needed to make your transition to CNSGNW as smooth as possible. In order to help facilitate this transition, please utilize the resources below to obtain information about moving and becoming acquainted with Navy life in the Pacific Northwest. If you need a point of contact prior to receiving a sponsor, please contact the Senior Enlisted Leader.

Naval Station Everett is located approximately 45 minutes north of Seattle, and about 1 hour north of Sea-Tac International Airport.

If driving, follow Interstate 5 North to exit 192, Naval Station/Port of Everett. Look for Pacific Avenue and turn left, then turn right onto West Marine View Drive. Follow the green road signs to Naval Station Everett, on the left. For access to base, you must have a valid military ID.

To drive on base, your car must be registered with the Department of Defense. If you need DOD stickers, stop by the Naval Station Pass and ID, to the right of the main gate. You will need a valid driver's license, proof of insurance, vehicle registration, and a military ID to register.

For those who are not driving, public transportation is also available, and usually costs about $50 for a ride from the airport to Naval Station Everett. To avoid travel costs, be sure to ask your sponsor to arrange to have the command pick you up.

Appropriate Uniform
Please arrive in the Uniform of the Day (CNT or Poly Wool Khakis for E-7 and above; Black and Tan uniform for E-6 and below).
Working Hours
Working hours are 0730 to 1600 Monday through Friday. PT is conducted Monday and Wednesday mornings and Friday afternoons. Please contact your sponsor for more information.
Smokey Point Naval Support Complex 
Directions to Smokey Point From Naval Station Everett
  1. Head north on West Marine View Drive toward 14th Street.
  2. Turn slight right to merge onto Washington-529.
  3. Take the ramp on the left onto Interstate-5 North.
  4. Take Exit-202 for 116th Street Northeast.
  5. Turn right at 116th Street Northeast.
  6. Turn left at Smokey Point Boulevard/State Avenue.
  7. Turn right at 136th Street Northeast.
  8. Turn right at 45th Avenue Northeast.
